Tröegs + Bikes & Beers

Tröegs Independent Brewing is teaming up with Bikes & Beers, a national organization committed to promoting bicycling as a safe, comfortable and smart choice for transportation and recreation. Tröegs will host an inaugural ride at its brewery in Hershey, PA on Saturday, June 9 beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Participants can sign up for a casual 15- or 30-mile ride, which begins and ends at Tröegs Brewery. The course will traverse the greater Hershey area and include plenty of pit-stops along the way offering snacks to keep riders nourished throughout the day. All skill levels of riders are welcome to participate.

“This is a great opportunity for us to connect with a community that has embraced craft beer for years,” said Chris Trogner, co-founder of Tröegs Independent Brewing. “We’re excited to partner with the Friends of Derry Township for this event, which will eventually help to expand the Jonathan Eshenour Trail and connect it with our brewery.”

After the ride, participants will enjoy a variety of Tröegs beer, food, and fun at the official after-party back at Tröegs Brewery. The event will feature live music from Luna and the Love Keys, plus a raffle for a chance to win a brand-new bike, restaurant gift certificates, and cycling gear. Two popular local food trucks – Mad Dash Grilled Cheese and Potato Coop – will be on-site offering up some tasty bites throughout the day.

“Bringing the Bikes & Beers event to Derry Township will have a great impact on not only the awareness of the Jonathan Eshenour Trail, but also in assisting with the funding of its on-going care and expansion throughout the township,” said Matthew Mandia, Director of Derry Township’s Department of Parks and Recreation. “Working with Bikes & Beers and Tröegs demonstrates the power and positive impact that these partnerships can have on the quality of life within a community.”

Proceeds of ticket sales will be donated to the Friends of Derry Township Parks & Recreation to continue the development of the Jonathan Eshenour Memorial Trail, which includes plans to connect part of the trail to an existing path around Tröegs Brewery.

About Tröegs

Founded in Pennsylvania in 1996 by brothers John and Chris Trogner, Tröegs Independent Brewing is driven by a sense of adventure and curiosity. From the beginning, our brewery has been built by family, friends and kindred spirits who share a love of great beer.

“We’re not an English ale brewery,” says co-founder Chris Trogner. “And we’re not a German lager brewery. We take bits and pieces from each one of those traditions and try to come up with what we think is a very creative and great-tasting beer.”

Tröegs is widely known for beers like Perpetual IPA, Troegenator, Nugget Nectar and Mad Elf, as well as our experimental Scratch Series, wood-aged Splinter Series and Hop Cycle seasonals. The annual Art of Tröegs contest showcases our love of art by challenging fans to reuse packaging in an original work. “We’re drawn to people with a sense of adventure,” says co-founder John Trogner. “And we think they’re drawn to Tröegs.”
